Save the date! The next Spanke’s Toiletry Drive Party is being held on April 18th at the Hidden Door in Dallas and the Trinity River Bears are proud to announce we are sponsoring the event.

For decades this event started by John “Spanke” Studer has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in badly needed supplies for ASD’s residents. For those who don’t know what ASD is about: “ASD is the largest provider of housing for people with HIV/AIDS. Our vision is to expand our housing for marginalized, underserved and low-income individuals that include those needing support for mental health and substance use.”

Who Are We?

The Trinity River Bears is a social organization that brings together bears and bear admirers, providing them with opportunities to meet and enjoy time together in various environments and social situations. Formed in the late 1990s, this popular Fort Worth gay club boasts active members not only in Fort Worth and Dallas but also in other cities throughout the greater DFW Metroplex, making it one of the prominent gay bear clubs in the area.

What Do We Do?

The Trinity River Bears engage in a variety of activities throughout the DFW Metroplex and beyond, proudly representing the bear community. As a supportive member of the Texas Conference of Clubs, we also connect with fellow enthusiasts in Fort Worth gay clubs and other gay bear clubs across the state of Texas.

Volunteering

Many of our members actively volunteer their time to assist PWA Holiday Charities with the May and September LVLPWA Campouts at the Texas Conference of Clubs landsite. These campouts are specifically for gay men living with HIV-AIDS. Participants include a mix of HIV positive and negative individuals, who may be campers, volunteers, sponsors, partners, or friends of campers living with HIV-AIDS.
